The World According to Chops and Tilly

1.  Even one little patch of sunlight is enough.

2.  Vegetables are good!

3.  Anything can be a toy.

4.  You might fight with your family....

5.  But you love them anyway!

Summer in Sydney

It was a gorgeous summer weekend here in Sydney.

Saturday morning we took a long walk down to the harbour with the dogs.  Around McMahons Point there is a huge Mulberry tree right along the water.  It had been picked pretty clean, but we were able to get enough (semi-)ripe mulberries to make a tart(let).  The dogs had a great time running on the beach, and climbing in the dirt near the Mulberry tree.  No pictures as I unfortunately forgot the camera - but I did get a shot of the Mulberries.  Yummmm.

And after such a long walk, we then had to have a rest in the garden.

Sunday, JL and I went to Balmoral Beach.  On the plus side, it was great beach weather, not too hot and not too cold, with a bit of a breeze.  On the minus side, my butt got severely burned and I'm in a bit of pain today.  But super loose velour pants make it all ok....

[Knitting update to come later today!]

Chopstar....sheeeee'ss baaaacckk

Even her little butt is cute!

So the good folks who were going to adopt Chopstar aren't going to be able to keep her after all....and I am THRILLED! We get her back tonight and I really cannot wait. I'm so excited. I've missed her cute little face.

I went to visit her in her new home last week (before they decided they couldn't keep her) and she was sooooo happy to see me. She followed me everywhere, only wanted to sit on me, and tried to follow me home. Once I left she apparently sat by the door and cried all night!

But she gets to come home now!!! Woohooo!!

JL is, of course, super excited as well (hahahahahahaha, ha). He LOVES the wee, fleas and constant yip-yapping. Seriously.

Adopt-A-Dog

In an effort not to be completely selfish and self-absorbed, I am going to be a foster mom to a homeless dog beginning on December 27th! It's a great program where you take over the care of a dog that has been abandoned/lost until it gets adopted. Since Lucy doesn't arrive until February at the earliest and I have the dog friendly apartment I figured I have a moral responsibility to help some poor helpless creature find a new home (after all, that's how I got Lucy). Plus, I get to have a dog!*

So, I'm taking suggestions for Adopt-A-Dog's semi-permanent name. As we don't know (a) what kind of dog he/she is, (b) what sex he/she is or (c) what color, shape, texture or other descriptive quality he/she may have, all suggestions will have to be based upon other factors. I don't know what.....that's why I'm asking!

So, please help. Otherwise I'm going to be at the dog park yelling "Here, Adopt-A-Dog, here, Adopt-a-Dog" and/or "Adopt-A-Dog! Stop peeing on that man's leg!" Could get rather embarrassing, though on second thought, good advertisement!

* JL is convinced that Adopt-A-Dog is soon going to become "Adopted-by-Kristen-and-John-Dog" but I have determined to stand strong (hahahahahah, fat chance). :)
