Goodbye Sweet Lucy

As some of you may know, my beautiful Cocker Spaniel Lucy died earlier this week. She was the best dog -- everyone who got to know her absolutely adored her, even though she came from a bit of a rough background. She had her moments but she was the most loving dog and so loyal. I will miss her tremendously.
Thank you to all my friends and family who have sent me such lovely messages. I know many people will find it strange to be so heartbroken over a dog, but she was so much more than that to me.

I understand; I feel the same way about my cats. Pets are much, much more than just animals! I'm sorry about Lucy. I hope she's sitting on the other side of Gram now (opposite Bandit) and stealing tidbits off her dinner tray while she chuckles at "Golden Girls!" Love, Deb

I'm so sorry! I hate that this is the price we pay to have pets in our lives. I'm sure she had a happy life with you. I hear that dogs go to dog heaven where there is an eternal supply of rabbits and squirrels to chase!

Oh, no! And you just got her there, right? I'm so sorry! That's terrible! It's so hard to lose our pets, isn't it? We feel like we're not supposed to feel too bad because they're "just animals" but often they are so much nicer and better than "real people" aren't they? Aw. I'm so sorry. What a bummer - she looked like she was such a cutie, too.

Hi Kristen, A week later we are still so sad about Lucy and miss her. She was a sweet little dog, with just one behavorial problem to work on, but we loved her anyway. Hope you are doing better this week. We love you! Mom

Kristen-

I got to spend one weekend with Lucy when mom went to visit Adam for his birthday. We had a good time! She slept wiht me, walked with me, and helped me make lasagna for dad! I enjoyed her company, as I haven't had a dog since my divorce. She was a sweetheart and I loved my private time with her. I am so sorry for your loss. I understand how you feel. She was a sweet dog! I believe she is with Grandma. too, like Debbie! I love you!
